Regulatory pressures on water companies are increasing. The COVID-19 crisis has provided a further challenge, with dramatic shifts to economic activity and residential occupancy having sudden, marked impact on operations.

Pre-COVID-19 the industry was already facing increasing regulatory pressure – specifically from PR19, one of the most challenging regulatory periods that water and sewerage companies have faced to date.

As the U.K. adjusts to the new normal, water companies must now use data-driven decisions to find new ways to meet performance commitments with a new-found awareness of the potential impact of another major disruption.
